AFIF is very conscious of the need to keep in touch with activities in other parts of the World and as such is an active member of the following regional and global Freight Forwarding bodies:
FIATA:-International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (the world body for our Industry). AFIF is a National Association Member and actively contributes to working committees and disseminates information on issues affecting Freight Forwarding globally. Individual Freight Forwarding companies may also apply for Associate membership. AFIF was proud to host the 1998 FIATA World Congress, held at the Darling Harbour Convention Centre, in September 1998. This event brought together 1000 delegates from 67 countries deliberating on all matters of International Transport Logistics and was held in Australia for the first time. In expanding it's involvement within FIATA, AFIF has representatives who attend and participate at meetings of the working committees of the Airfreight Institute, the Security Advisory Body , Customs Affairs Institute and the Multi-Modal Transport Institute. In addition a member of AFIF has held the position of Vice-President of FIAT representing Asia Pacific on the 'Extended Board' of FIATA.
