DP World Update
     Protected Industrial Action

As reported in AFIF Bulletins and AFIF Weekly News last week, members of the CFMMEU are undertaking a campaign of protected industrial action at DP World Australia Terminals.

Following is the latest update from DP World Australia today at 6.25pm.

Lifting of industrial action at DP World Brisbane, Melbourne and Fremantle

As you are aware each of the four DP World Australia (DPWA) terminals has been subjected to Protected Industrial Action (PIA) following the expiry of the Enterprise Agreement (EA).

The CFMMEU agreed to lift all forms of PIA nationally as of Sunday 31 March so that negotiations for a replacement EA could resume.

We are pleased that Brisbane, Melbourne and Fremantle have honoured the agreement. Disappointingly Sydney has continued to take industrial action in the form of stoppages. We have received notice of a 24 hour stoppage commencing at our Port Botany Terminal from 0600 Thursday 4 April.

DP World Sydney is appearing before the Fair Work Commission tomorrow (Wednesday) following an application seeking that Unprotected Industrial Action stop. An interim order was granted on Thursday 28 March. DPWA leadership are taking steps to attempt to avert the industrial action scheduled for Thursday.

DP World Sydney has notified key landside customers (road and rail) of the potential for industrial action on 4 April so that those who wish to can make alternative arrangements.

DP World Sydney appreciates your continued understanding.
