Dear AFIF Member,

Qantas Sydney CTO has issued the following Notice on ULD Storage facilities and Timeslot bookings from 6 January 2019.

An Update to the ULD Storage Facilities at Sydney Airport

Dear Customer,

Our terminals and other facilities at Sydney Airport are changing in early 2020 due to the airport infrastructure upgrades being undertaken by the Sydney Airport Corporation Ltd (SACL). Facilities which are impacted include the airside area used to store empty ULDs. This space is being reduced significantly to cater for the airport developments.

We know it's important to give you time to prepare for these changes, so we wanted to let you know how we're planning to manage ULD storage and what impact it may have on your operations.

From 6 January 2020, a new booking process will be implemented for empty ULD movements on weekdays to ensure we minimise wait times and optimise the limited ULD storage space available.

Book a slot before you leave

Call the Qantas Freight ULD team on (02) 9691 6051 between 0700 and 1100 (Mon-Fri) to make a booking and make sure you have the following information ready:

  • Planned time of arrival at Terminal 1
  • Service required (pick up or drop off)
  • Quantity and type of ULDs
  • Airline owner of ULD

Drivers arriving without a booking on weekdays will be accommodated after all pre-bookings have been processed, so book a spot to avoid delays.

ULD movements on the weekends will not require a booking.

Information for drivers

Please remind your drivers that drop off and collection of empty ULDs will be at Qantas Freight Terminal 1, Sydney Container Park, 1 Link Road, Mascot NSW 2020.

Airside access to the precinct will no longer be available from 6 January 2020.
