AFIF presents a NEW COURSE in packing & unpacking Sea Containers

Sea Container Pack/Unpack

The Australian Federation of International Forwarders (AFIF) in response to new Government requirements for greater port and maritime safety and security, have developed a training course designed to introduce standards and greater awareness and understanding of container packing and unpacking matters.

“There is a general heightened awareness for increased security surveillance but it is also imperative to provide detailed instruction on how certain commodities particularly Dangerous Goods should be stowed and shored,” said Brian Lovell, CEO of AFIF.

“In addition, Australia’s commitment to Quarantine protection means that participants will gain a greater understanding and awareness of what pests to look out for and this also this extends to ensuring that we also send out clean containers overseas.”

In producing this course, AFIF has worked closely with the Department of Transport and Regional Services (DOTaRS) in Canberra and a leading risk management insurance advisor in preparing information.

This course is either an introduction or refresher course for staff involved in planning of and physically packing, or unpacking seafreight shipping containers.
