Tuesday, 8 December, 2003 Deputy PM Anderson announces changes to Aviation Security
Dear {Firstname}, Please refer to the attached MEDIA RELEASE and FACT SHEETS released by the Deputy PM, part of which relate to Aircargo security. We await detailed instructions from the Department of Transport and Regional Services (DoTaRS) as to how the "Regulated Agent" program will be affected but in essence the International Cargo Security Regs will extend to domestic operations and in general terms the audit process and compliance monitoring will be overhauled. This is a "heads-up" for the industry and we suggest in the first instance that you check all staff training records to ensure that all training accreditation numbers commence 04 or 05, otherwise will be out of date by January 1. We will notify you regarding full detail of changes to the program as soon as we have more information. Please advise all concerned.
