Eagle Datamation
International has received a written demand from MaxeTrade's lawyers alleging
the following article about their pricing structure in our EagleEye June
newsletter http://www.edi.com.au/edilibrary/newsletterjune05.htm
was misleading and deceptive because we omitted relevant information about that
structure. We do not admit any wrong doing. In fact, we made a number of
unsuccessful attempts to get a detailed tariff or pricing model from MaxeTrade
in order to properly inform our customers.
However, in the interest
of clarity and openness, we have added in bold and italics to our original
statement the exact wording MaxeTrade's lawyers say should have been included
in our newsletter.
edi refutes the rumour
that it will only support the MaxeTrade Network in its products.
Recently a number of
clients have become concerned with reports that we would only support the
MaxeTrade network. In fact this is not the case, rather we have not yet agreed
with MaxeTrade on the basis of technical connection and we have never had any
plan to exclusively use Maxetrade. We will provide support for MaxeTrade should
our clients think it a viable and reasonable option and should MaxeTrade
provide the requisite technical, logistical and functional support that our
clients and we require.
Whilst edi should be
able to support clients that wish to have their customs entries processed and
charged at the MaxeTrade rate of $4.90 per entry and a rebate of up to 90% in
most cases depending on the volume of a clients customs entries we want
to make it clear to all customers that we also support many other network
providers and options and always have. Other network options may be lower or no
cost per entry. We are not disputing that the MaxeTrade network is high
quality, however, most current edi clients are electing to transact their
Import EDI processes in the same was as they are transacting their Export EDI
processes that is with a good quality Internet provider with the added security
of signed encrypted Entries and an "Interchange Acknowledgement / Retry"
designed by Customs and built into Enterprise and Deliverance to substantially
guarantee reliability.
If any edi clients have
signed or are considering signing for the MaxeTrade service could they please
contact Melinda Elmowy on melinda@edi.com.au
as we need to ascertain specific technical requirements and implementation
needs to support your use of MaxeTrade.
