  1. The value in checking your response messages – increase your profit….

With a growing requirement for airline’s and CTO’s to receive your FWB and FHL messages, as well as financial penalties in many cases if you fail to provide the information, it is imperative that you check the response messages you receive from Ezycargo to ensure your data has been successfully received and processed.

The FMA is a positive response message, however, should you ever see an FNA message, this indicates a problem has occurred and the message has not been successful. For more details on FNA’s please contact your software provider, or contact us at Ezycargo.

  2. Are you getting the full benefit from your FSU messages?

Many airlines operating from Australia are now returning FSU (Freight Status Update) messages which provide a valuable tool to forwarders in keeping tabs on the status of their freight.

After you send your FWB, these FSU messages are automatically sent to your operating system as your cargo moves through it’s journey. For more information, please contact your software provider, or contact us at Ezycargo.

3. IATA eFreight - Removing paper from our industry

As you may have heard, IATA have launched a program to remove all paper from the air cargo process by 2010, with trials planned to commence as early as 2007.

Ezycargo are closely monitoring all developments on this project, having attended the recent IATA conference in Geneva where the program was outlined to the industry. We’ll be communicating with you about this program in early 2006, so stay tuned for further information.

4. Canadian Customs Pre-Reporting

New regulations came into effect recently regarding air cargo imports to Canada. Airlines are now required to pre-report their shipments into Canada at HAWB level prior to flight arrival, as they do for the United States.

The forwarder’s role in this is to ensure that your FHL messages (HAWB) are sent when you also transmit your FWB’s (MAWB). Please feel free to contact us at Ezycargo if you have any questions in relation to this.

5. eBookings

Although a number of forwarders have become accustom to making eBookings, overall, there remains significant room for improvement in the Australian industry in this regard.

Australia falls well below a number of other countries in eBooking compliance levels. Having said that, there are some bright spots too, with the Adelaide market in particular embracing the eBooking culture very well. Keep up the good work Adelaide!

If you would like to schedule an eBooking Information and Training session so you too can enjoy the benefits of eBookings, please contact us and we will make the arrangements to get you booking the ezy way with CX, JL, MH, QF & SQ.
