![]() AFIF's Sydney tsunami golf day gathers strong support There has been strong support for the Australian Federation of International Forwarders tsunami relief golf day in Sydney on Tuesday, February 8. There are now 27 four-player teams entered out of a maximum possible 36 on the course. Eighteen different sponsors have put in a further $11,000, and major prizes, including air tickets, have been offered for auction at a barbecue after the match. The presentations will made by cricket legend Ian Chappell, so long as an early conclusion to the Australia/Pakistan/West Indies one-day series means that he is not needed to commentate on a third final. The event will be kicked off by former deputy prime minister Tim Fischer, representing the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, which will receive the funds from the day. The UNHCR is also expected to announce the specific purpose for which the funds will be spent. For more details contact Brian Lovell on 02 9314 3055. |
