Airlines Surcharges

Dear {Firstname},

Members may well have read lately of the actions taking place around the world in relation to airline surcharges and the drive for Forwarders to receive payment for collecting these fees.

In Europe this is being led by the Belgian, Italian and Swiss Forwarders strongly supported by FIATA who are advising carriers their members may no longer invoice and remit via the CASS system unless they receive payment for providing the service.

AFIF is aware of the situation and is currently obtaining legal advice as to whether as an Association we are able to tackle this issue.

Once this has been received AFIF will communicate its findings to members along with proposed further action.

Should any members wish to discuss this matter further please contact the AFIF office or Paul Golland, the Airfreight director of AFIF. paulg@halfordinternational.com.au or 9695-2000.

Thanks and regards ,
