DELAYS AT QANTAS SYDNEY FREIGHT TERMINAL Dear {Firstname}, Manager Qantas CTO, Sydney, Robert Labrum, has advised that the delays that some of you may have been experiencing at their Sydney terminals are schedule / volume related only. Robert says that they had a good morning yesterday and the afternoon was also reasonable. They have added additional resources and have worked through the night. Also, as you are probably aware, Qantas Sydney Freight Terminal have commenced works on the Import Delivery Dock upgrade which may also be contributing to the problem. Please click here to view the information update from Qantas. AFIF has asked Qantas to alert us in future on delays and keep us informed on building updates. They advised that they are considering issuing a weekly bulletin. Qantas have suggested that if more cargo was collected on weekends, as it arrives, then the congestion which is currently experienced at the beginning of each week should be greatly reduced. They also wish to remind forwarders that Qantas are open in the afternoons for the collection of import cargo. Currently these times are rarely used. Qantas anticipate things will resume to normal today and no further delays are expected in the delivery of freight. Thank you and regards, AFIF Secretariat Australian Federation of International Forwarders Ltd (AFIF)
