Qantas CTO Sydney have advised that matters have settled down a little in terms of capacity but Import pick-ups are still inconsistent, particularly at weekends.

They have advised that there is plenty of availability all week after 6pm at night and in the early hours of the morning and they are prepared to discuss slot times with Forwarders, even if these are out of normal operating hours. A flexible approach is being taken.

With slot times, the idea is that the Forwarder would notify Qantas CTO (by fax or email)  of cargo that will be collected on the next run  and the cargo will be prepared for pick up, to avoid any unnecessary delays.
